I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Gebze Technical University. My research centers on subnational and multi‑regional computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling, with a strong focus on evaluating regional investment policies including transportation infrastructure such as highways, urban rail systems, and high speed rail as well as energy policy and energy efficiency strategies. I also work on the economics of sustainable agricultural systems, including the design of optimal crop portfolios under resource and climate constraints, and the integration of remote sensing and machine/deep learning techniques for production and yield estimation.

I received my PhD in Economics from Istanbul Technical University. From 2022 to 2025, I served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University College London (UCL), where I contributed to the project “Mineral-Based Construction Materials at the Framework of Circular Economy” and played a key role in developing the United Kingdom’s first multi‑regional CGE model for regional macroeconomic impact assessment.

Technical Tools

My work integrates multi‑regional computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling, input‑output analysis, remote sensing methodologies together with machine/deep learning algorithms to investigate complex interactions across economic, environmental, and regional systems. These tools allow for rigorous evaluation of policy scenarios, spatial dynamics, and long‑term development strategies.

Publications (under review)

These under‑review studies examine how regional economies respond to energy transitions, infrastructure investments, natural hazards, and industrial decarbonization. Together, they integrate multi‑regional CGE modeling, energy systems analysis, and spatial economic methods to provide policy‑relevant insights on subnational efficiency, seismic impacts, transport networks, and low‑carbon pathways.
